| YMO Crashes Meltdown | ||
|
Yellow Magic Orchestra invaded the confines of London's Royal Festival Hall last night for Massive Attack's Meltdown Festival, and blew the roof off the joint in their sold out gig. Joined by Ren Takada on pedal steel guitar and various stringed instruments, Tomohiko Gondo on laptop and hard disk duties, cornet and euphonium, and Christian Fennesz on guitar and electronics, original members Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi, and Haruomi Hosono reminded Londoners of what they've been missing since their last area performance in 1980. According to the Guardian, this was an engrossing, almost enveloping evening. Catch YMO next in Gijon, Spain on 6.19. | ||
